an increasingly responsible growth model
ASPESI is focusing on the development of an increasingly responsible operating model, aimed at minimizing environmental and social impact to create added value in all aspects of our business.
Our corporate responsibility strategy is rooted in ASPESI’s heritage and values, for a positive legacy respectful of the ethical values that have always informed the company’s evolution.
First and foremost, the timelessness and longevity of the apparel, conceived to extend their life cycle and ensure their durability over time.
With this in mind, in recent years ASPESI has defined a structured panel of ESG goals to be attained in the short-medium term. Our efforts will be detailed in the first sustainability report, summarizing the actions carried out until the end of 2024, briefly described below:
From an environmental point of view, the Group has reinforced its commitment by becoming a signatory in 2021 to the UN Global Compact. Our actions are focused on an increasingly greater use of renewable materials and energy, together with a reduction in our emissions, energy and water consumption, and respect for animal rights.
In the social sphere, ASPESI’s commitment is directed at greater wellbeing for our employees and relevant communities, as well as respect for diversity and support for equal opportunities for men and women which has always been a factor in our business. The latter was corroborated by our acceptance as signatory to the UNO’s Women Empowerment Principles, and presentation in 2022 of the biennial Gender Equality Report.
With over 50% of our producers in Italy, our governance strategy aims to ensure that all our apparel is made in compliance with workers' rights and following ethical business principles verified through a thorough and constant social and environmental audit process.
Our responsible sourcing practices are strengthened by our commitment to include the structured use of production in social enterprises, creating job opportunities for minorities and disdvantaged communities.
ASPESI is a founding partner of EthicaRei, the first Italian network of ethical production certified by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), and has developed partnerships with Mifuko and with Made51.
